Law Enforcement

Law enforcement agencies face greater challenges than ever as they work to safeguard the lives and property of the people they serve. NC4 empowers law enforcement communities with Situational Readiness solutions that enhance situational awareness, enable efficient situational response, and provide a secure platform for communication and collaboration. NC4’s Situational Readiness solutions support Law Enforcement agencies in fulfilling their missions.

Secure Communication and Collaboration

When an incident requires law enforcement action, it is often times necessary for them to communicate and collaborate with other agencies. NC4’s Extranet Secure Portals (ESP) provide secure, compartmentalized groups for sensitive case management and need-to-know access controls around any information entered into the system. It’s a trusted environment which meets or exceeds federal requirements for information protection of Privacy Impact Information (PII), Law Enforcement Sensitive (LES) information, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and more.

The CyberCop Portal is one example of NC4’s ESP solution. Designed specifically for the law enforcement community, CyberCop is committed to providing a safe and secure environment where ideas can be freely exchanged to aid individual efforts and foster cooperative efforts in the fight against crime, terrorism and the security of our homeland. CyberCop enables users to securely share libraries of documents and case studies, send secure email, and participate in threaded discussions over the Web.  Learn More

Situational Awareness

In order to effectively serve and protect our communities, it is imperative that law enforcement agencies have real-time, actionable information in order to make quick, informed decisions. NC4’s External Situational Awareness (ESA) solution provides real-time, global, all-hazards alerts that are tailored to each user via location proximity and severity level parameters. Two fully redundant NC4 Incident Monitoring Centers (NIMCs) monitor world events 24x7, coordinating with strategic partnerships and law enforcement agencies such as the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), New York City’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM), and others. ESA complements law enforcement and Fusion Center intelligence collection methods by acting as an automated listening post that may have intelligence value.

Situational Response
Law enforcement agencies require an efficient way to track incident response and recovery efforts. NC4’s E Team Situational Response solution provides the most advanced incident information management and data sharing tools available to help law enforcement organizations ensure internal preparedness, situational awareness, and effective response capabilities for both everyday incidents and major emergencies. The E Team solution includes Tip Submission reports that provide an intake reporting mechanism for gathering, organizing and disseminating crime and terrorist threat information. To further enhance crime analysis efforts and your ability to analyze information, the E Team Analysis and Reporting Engine (ARE) is a visualization reporting tool that generates a variety of interactive report views of key performance indicators from your E Team data. Another important layer of visual enhancement in E Team is ESA Incident Monitor (EIM). EIM provides at-a-glance situational awareness of global all-hazards events that the NIMCs are tracking 24x7. The EIM feature allows law enforcement agencies to access a virtual watch command center that monitors incidents in areas of interest, further enhancing agency Situational Awareness.

E Team has been implemented in many Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) regions and statewide deployments. For example, all twenty-one New Jersey counties utilize E Team, connecting the New Jersey State Police Office of Emergency Management with all of the counties and state agencies. E Team provides the platform on which they build a real-time, statewide common operating picture allowing them to better respond to natural disasters and acts of terrorism, prepare for planned events, and execute statewide training exercises.  Learn More
